Our caretakers, Consuelo and Andrew, should be able to assist you and answer any questions once you are down there. However, there are a few things you may need to know before your arrival.

You WILL need your passport upon entering Belize. Fly into Belize City (BZE). Once through customs, you'll take the trip to San Pedro airstrip on Ambergris Caye. The inter-island commuter airline is Tropic Air, which flies approximately every hour, and takes 15 minutes to get over to the island. Reservations with Tropic Air can be made by fax (011-501-266-2338),their website or email at Just let them know the date, time, and flight number for your arrival in Belize City, and your return flight information. The round trip fare on Tropic Air is approximately $158 per person.

If you call the house when you are at Belize City airport, Andrew will order you a cab and be waiting at the airstrip in San Pedro to take you and your luggage to the house. Since Casa Gonzo is a couple of miles from town, we suggest renting a golf cart during your stay. We recommend Carts Belize - . They deliver the golf cart to you for no extra charge. Be sure to tell them you were referred by Jerry Jeff Walker.

When you arrive Consuelo and Andrew will be happy to do your grocery shopping to stock the house. You will just have to give them some indication of what you wish to have on hand. Consuelo will be happy to prepare meals for you while you are our guests. She will need some guidance with menu planning and which meals each day you would like to have at the house. Chicken and seafood are abundant entrees there, other choices are limited. You will also find excellent restaurants with a variety of good food on the island.

San Pedro Distributors will deliver cases of beer, cokes, etc. if you call when you arrive. Of course there are plenty of liquor stores fairly well stocked on the island. There is an excellent shop called WINE De VINE, right near the air strip in town. Mary Ellen has an incredible selection of wines and cheeses for you - a true gourmet shop! There is also a wine merchant in Belize City who has a fabulous wine selection, and his wine list is in the desk drawer. His name is Richard Price, Premium Wines & Spirits, 011-501-223-4984. He can send an order over on the airline if you want to call and order.
